IITs enter into Open Education partnership with Google, Harvard

The IITs have rolled out a high-quality online distance education platform in association with partners such as Google and Nasscom. These resources are being provided under the aegis of the Massive Open Online Courses (MOOC), launched by the HRD Minister M.M. Pallam Raju on Friday.

The interesting thing about the program is that anybody can sign up for it, and get the benefit of being taught by the best of professors and learn or, if they want, have a fresh look at the fundamentals of various fields.

Alongside this, IIT Bombay has also entered into an agreement with the MIT & Harvard backed EDx initiative, and will be launching their first MOOCs course in July this year.

These courses will be followed by an in-person certification exam held along the line of GATE.
